Fresh Thyme Farmers Market is seeking a Deli/Bakery Clerk to keep deli/bakery cases stocked and clean while assisting customers with purchases. The role requires a friendly demeanor and adherence to Food Service Department procedures.

Responsibilities include stocking, labeling, and rotate products, preparing deli items, weighing products, and maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment. Flexible hours and a team-driven culture are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• 1–2 years grocery retail experience preferred.
• Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness of deli/bakery cases, storage area, and work area for safety; includes cleaning shelves, floors, and removing spills.
• Stocks deli/bakery cases; presents product, faces items, and ensures pricing accuracy.
• Checks rotation and discards expired or spoiled items.
• Assists customers with purchases and product selection; cross-sells where appropriate.
• Receives and inspects shipments for accuracy, temperature, and quality.
• Maintains POP materials and recipe cards; ensures nutrition and allergen information is visible.
• Operates equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, and hand trucks.
• Prepares deli/bakery items with proper ingredients and cooking times.
• Weighs and labels products accurately using scales and weights.
• Participates in pre-inventory and back-stock organization; tags match products.
• Maintains product knowledge and ensures clean, organized appearance in department.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
