Job summary

Military Deli and Bakery Services at Shaw Air Force Base, SC is seeking a Part Time Deli Bakery Associate to join a friendly team that delivers quick, accurate service while maintaining clean prep areas.

You will slice meats and cheeses, prepare party trays, stock displays, and assist with bakery tasks as needed. Weekend shifts may be required and cross-training is available to support operations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Willing to cross-train in bakery and deli tasks.
• Effective and friendly communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math and ability to follow written guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk short distances for an entire shift.
• Tolerates working in freezers for up to 20 minutes at a time.
• Team player.
• Grocery, food service or retail experience a plus.
• Some weekend shifts are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer service and teamwork with positive communication.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer’s request.
• Prepare custom party trays and make sandwiches accordingly.
• Stock and organize displays and assist with shipments as needed.
• Ensure proper sanitation of the department, equipment and proper food handling.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
• Other duties may include cake decorating, baking, rotisserie chicken preparation, or other deli/bakery tasks as needed.
