Job summary

Piggly Wiggly Food for Less Montgomery is hiring a part-time Deli Associate to serve customers with friendly, accurate assistance. You will prepare items, maintain a clean station, and handle daily deli tasks in a fast-paced grocery setting.

Strong customer service, reliability and the ability to follow instructions are required. 18+ and English proficiency are expected; previous deli experience is a plus, and flexible hours including weekends may be needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist and thank customers in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner.
• Offer product suggestions when appropriate.
• Stock and rotate department products to ensure freshness and date control; restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest supply cost.
• Operate department equipment and tools in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notify store management.
• Notify management of team member theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark-downs, property defacement or any action that is illegal and/or against company policy.
• Prepare and serve food items such as hot meals, sandwiches, salads, soups, etc.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning equipment and utensils.
• Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
• Understand the company’s checkout/purchasing procedures to include how customers and staff pay for items in the store.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines to include maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
• Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned to include stocking, cleaning, etc.
