Food and Thought 2 in Naples, FL is seeking a customer-focused Deli Associate to join our retail food service team. You will deliver friendly service, take and prepare food orders, slice and portion deli products, and help maintain food safety standards.

You will operate deli equipment, follow procedures for receiving, dating, and stocking products, and ensure cleanliness and organization. This role requires 18+, strong attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to work well with

Responsibilities

• Provides customers with premier customer service, taking orders, weighing, and portioning food items.
• Prepares, packages, and serves Deli products to customers for sale.
• Operates deli equipment as required by the department (slicer, scale, can opener, wrapping machine, rotisserie, fryolator, case cutter, stove/oven).
• Follows procedures for receiving, code dating, preparing, storing, and price marking, restocking products to ensure quality and rotation.
• Replenishes Deli products as needed and monitors refrigeration equipment for proper performance.
• Adheres to health, safety, and sanitation standards and cleans surfaces and equipment.
• Wears uniform guidelines including long pants and closed-toed shoes.

We are seeking a customer-focused Deli Associate to join our retail food service team. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, taking and preparing food orders, slicing, weighing, and portioning deli products, and maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.

Requirements

Essential Job Functions:

• Provides customers with premier customer service, taking orders, weighing, and portioning food items.
• Prepares, packages, and serves Deli products to customers for sale.
• Ability to operate the equipment as required by the department, (i.e., slicer, scale, can opener, wrapping machine, rotisserie, fryolator, case cutter, and stove/oven).
• Follows approved procedures for receiving, code dating, preparing, storing, and price marking, arranging and restocking products to ensure quality, accuracy, and product rotation and protection.
• Replenishes Deli products as needed.
• Monitors refrigeration equipment for proper performance regularly
• Adheres to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations.
• Maintains department sanitation and quality standards by cleaning and sanitizing all work surfaces, utensils, and equipment. Keeps floor clear of debris and spills.
• Must adhere to company uniform guidelines, including wearing long pants and closed-toed shoe.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

• At least 18 years old
• Detailed oriented, attentive, and precise, able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable talking to people.
• Able to work well with others as a team.
• Reliable transportation
• Non-slip shoes are mandatory (please note that the company does not provide).
• Wear cutting gloves at all times when operating knives, slicers, or other sharp tools.
• Complies with hand washing standards and uses disposable gloves when handling food.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
• Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and kneeling throughout the shift
• Manual dexterity to safely handle knives, tools, and kitchen equipment
• Clear vision and hearing to ensure safety, accuracy, and effective communication
• Ability to climb step stools or ladders as needed
• Must be able to work on weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as scheduled
