Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a Food Clerk to provide exceptional customer service in our Fresh departments. You will build positive connections with customers, share product knowledge, and maintain inviting displays while stocking and merchandising products.

You will follow food safety procedures, work across departments, and use technology to complete tasks efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment. Prior retail or food service experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Strong listening and communication skills.
• Ability to follow processes and safety standards.
• Willingness to be physically active, including lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods.
• Previous retail or food service experience is helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates.
• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need.
• Maintain full, fresh, and visually appealing product displays.
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise product according to standards.
• Use technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery.
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
