CAL FIRE is recruiting approximately 150 temporary Defensible Space Inspector (Forestry Aide) positions statewide. Primary duties include performing defensible space inspections and interacting with the public to provide fire prevention information. All appointments are temporary and will not become permanent.
Annual responsibilities include:
Incumbents are required to wear respiratory protection equipment, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). They must be annually medically cleared to be fit-tested for respiratory protection equipment. Duties involve fieldwork requiring above-average physical endurance and the ability to run, walk, climb, jump, twist, bend, lift over 25 pounds, and work under adverse environmental conditions.
California Driver's License is desired but not required.
