Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) in Mount Laurel, NJ seeks a User Experience and Interface Design Intern to join the Integrated Mission Systems team and contribute to design systems and user-centered solutions.

The role emphasizes rapid development, collaboration, and applied design thinking with hands-on use of Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite within an on-site/hybrid work model. A strong portfolio and foundational UX literacy are valued.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or postgraduate study in HCI, Interaction Design, Fine/Visual/Media Arts, Graphic Design or equivalent
• Experience with digital design tools (Adobe CS; Figma/Sketch; Miro/Mural) and design thinking
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS or interactive product development is preferred

Responsibilities

• Contributes to and augments design system components and patterns
• Updates Figma designs based on stakeholder feedback and discovery
• Annotates Figma files with specs for stakeholders
• Collaborates on solutions to design problems and gathers data to support decisions
• Revises prototypes after design adjustments
• Creates IDT-branded illustrations, pictograms, and icons as needed
• Participates in design and delivery reviews to align with mission objectives
• Prioritizes goals based on user needs and supports agile development cycles
• Learns from successes and setbacks to improve future designs
