Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Specialist, Technical Writer in Greenville, TX to create, develop, plan, write and edit operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication.

The role involves interviewing users and engineers to gather data, translating technical information into clear manuals, updating the VIP fleet documentation, and ensuring products meet QA standards and schedule requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with four (4) years of experience in technical writing for flight/maintenance manuals.
• Graduate Degree with two (2) years of experience in technical information gathering and editing.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum eight (8) years of experience in technical publication writing.

Responsibilities

• Research and translate technical information into manuals and web documents for non-technical and technical users.
• Interview users and staff to gather data for documentation and ensure accuracy.
• Document engineering processes and specifications; meet customer requirements.
• Develop and modify digital publications using FrameMaker in an unstructured environment.
• Coordinate with Program Management Office and Technical Publication supervision to schedule work.
