Job summary

Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services Division in Crane, Indiana is seeking a highly motivated technical writer to transform complex technical information into clear, accurate, and compliant documentation that supports program success.

In this role, you will collaborate with SMEs, engineers, and program managers to develop manuals, SOPs, training materials, and technical reports while ensuring MIL-STD and DoW standards, version control, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required
• Active Department of War (DoW) Secret clearance (or ability to obtain)
• 3-5 years of experience in technical writing or proposal writing
• Familiarity with MIL-STD documentation standards and DoW technical publication practices

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize, and manage program documentation to MIL-STD and DoW standards
• Collaborate with SMEs, engineers, and program managers to gather information and translate it into user-friendly content
• Edit, format, and proofread program documents for clarity and technical accuracy
• Manage document coordination, version control, and scheduling
• Produce manuals, SOPs, training materials, and technical reports
