Job summary

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions is seeking a technical writer to join the Crane, Indiana division. You will transform complex technical information into clear, compliant documentation across user manuals, SOPs, and reports, collaborating with SMEs, engineers, and program managers to ensure program success.

You will develop and manage program-specific documents, adhering to stringent defense industry standards, and contribute to high-quality communications across divisional functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, technical writing, or related discipline; equivalent experience considered.
• Preferred: engineering degree plus English, journalism, or technical writing, or certification in technical writing.
• US citizenship required for this role.
• Active DoW Secret clearance or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Document development, tracking, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with SMEs to gather information and translate technical data into user-friendly content.
• Coordinate documents including scheduling, feedback tracking, and version control.
• Edit, format, and proofread program-specific documents for clarity and accuracy.
• Write clear, concise, and persuasive content across manuals, SOPs, and reports.
• Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced defense environment.
