Job summary

Amentum is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Systems Acquisition Project Officer (Assistant Program Manager) in support of the PME Combat Sustainment on the Detroit Arsenal in Warren, MI. This position is on-site and not yet funded, contingent upon funding.

You will provide acquisition advisory and portfolio analysis across the Defense Acquisition System, support staff coordination, risk assessment, and prepare executive decision packages for senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Systems Acquisition, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related technical discipline.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and Teams applications.
• 3–5 years of experience in DoD/Army program management, strategic planning.
• US Citizenship required; Active DoD SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide SAPO and Portfolio Analyst support to the PME Combat Sustainment.
• Assist in acquisition advisory, life cycle sustainment, and staff coordination across the Defense Acquisition System.
• Coordinate with IPTs and external stakeholders; prepare executive briefings and decision packages.
• Monitor cost, schedule, and performance metrics; support portfolio reviews and strategy sessions.
• Assist in development and execution of acquisition strategies and program management plans.
• Support government programs through all acquisition life cycle phases.
