Job summary

AST SpaceMobile seeks a Program Director to lead a mission-critical government program delivering satellite delivery, launch, commissioning, and on-orbit operations under a fixed-price contract. The role is the single point of accountability for the program, coordinating with cross-functional teams in the Washington, DC area.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of program management experience in aerospace/defense, including fixed-price government programs.
• Experience managing satellite/space systems programs is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as AST's primary program lead and customer point of contact for government engagements.
• Maintain an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and provide monthly program status reports on technical progress, finances, schedule, and risk.
• Build and maintain a program risk registry and drive mitigation actions across engineering, operations, and supply chain.
• Lead in-person program reviews, kickoff meetings, and periodic status briefings with the government customer in the Washington, D.C. area.
• Ensure compliance with cost/schedule reporting and OPSEC obligations.
• Directly supervise and mentor program management staff supporting the program.
• Coordinate across Systems Engineering, Space Segment, Launch, Ground Segment, and Mission Operations for on-time, on-cost delivery.
• Support proposal development, ROM estimating for follow-ons, and capture activities.
• Stand up and mature PMO processes, tools, and standards for the defense subsidiary.
