Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with HQ SACT Capability Development stakeholders, Partner Nations, NATO HQ, ACO/SHAPE to foster NATO-Partner cooperation.
• Advise internal stakeholders on strategic value, scope, risks, and opportunities of NATO military partnerships.
• Lead staff support for military integration of ITTPs and support the Planning and Review Process within ACT.

Job Description

SIMis, Inc. is seeking contract support to contribute to the activities, outputs, coordination requirements, and battle rhythm of the Partnerships Branch in support of their objectives. To support our customer, SimIS, Inc. seeks a Military Partnership Advisor to support partner capability development by integrating capability development approaches into Partner capability development activities, ensuring coherence with the NATO Defence Planning Process, NATO standardization, interoperability requirements, and applicable doctrine. This is a defense planner role not an operational planner. Defense planning focuses on long-term development (>5+ years), acquisition, and structuring of future military capabilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in international relations, international security, international development, military studies, foreign policy, public affairs, political science, or related discipline; or BS degree plus graduate of a NATO or national military staff college.
• Ten (10) years of experience working in a Defense or Security-related position in NATO, a multinational headquarters, an International Organization, or a national mission, delegation, or embassy. in the field of foreign/international security/international cooperation, defense, military affairs.
• Ten (10) years of experience working in the field of foreign/international security/international cooperation/defense/military affairs.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of: NATO Partnerships; or security sector reform / defense and security capacity building; or defense planning; or military capability development / military applications of operations research.
• Candidate’s resume must demonstrate experience in drafting for and/or briefing senior leaders/decision makers by citing specific documents, published articles, or presentations in which the candidate developed or contributed to substantially.

Responsibilities

• Support Partner capability development by coordinating with HQ SACT Capability Development stakeholders, Partner Nations, NATO HQ, ACO/SHAPE, and relevant subject matter experts to foster mutually beneficial NATO-Partner cooperation. Support the integration of NATO capability development approaches into Partner capability development activities, ensuring coherence with the NATO Defence Planning Process, NATO standardization, interoperability requirements, and applicable doctrine.
• Advise and support internal stakeholders on the strategic value, scope, risks, and opportunities of NATO military partnerships, including opportunities for Partner engagement across ACT work strands. Contribute to the drafting of policies, directives, concepts, reports, studies, and military advice related to the longer-term development of NATO military partnerships and their interaction with NATO defense policies, cooperative programmes, and transformation priorities.
• Act as the lead staff support for military integration of Individually Tailored Partnership Programmes (ITPP) and Planning and Review Process-related work within ACT. Support the execution of all steps of the ITPP process by providing military input, subject matter expertise, staff coordination, supporting documentation, assessment material, and preparation for bilateral and multilateral engagements.
