Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to support enterprise network infrastructure, secure communications, and command-and-control environments within the defense sector. This on-site role is based in Colorado Springs, CO, and involves implementing, maintaining, and optimizing multi-location network environments.

Responsibilities include configuring routers/switches, monitoring performance, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in network engineering or enterprise infrastructure support.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper routing and switching technologies.
• Experience with Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Experience with WAN optimization technologies, TACLANEs, optical transport equipment, and multi-vendor environments.
• Strong understanding of OSI model, TCP/IP networking, traffic analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with routing protocols including BGP and OSPF.
• Experience with UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE tunnels, and enterprise TCP/IP designs.
• Ability to document network architectures and present using MS Office, Visio, and PowerPoint.
• Current IAT Level II 8570-compliant certifications (Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNP, or equivalent).
• Current CCNA or JNCIA certification.
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• CCNP or JNCIP preferred.
• Experience with VMware NSX, vSAN, and related platforms.
• Experience with Ansible Automation.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, WAN devices, and optical transport equipment.
• Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity, latency, and packet loss issues.
• Implement core networking technologies including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, GRE, UDP multicast, and TCP/IP.
• Document troubleshooting efforts and infrastructure changes with clear records.
• Travel to remote locations for installations, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting while updating stakeholders.
