Job summary

Dayton T. Brown, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Hollywood, MD to design, model, and integrate customized mobile mission systems for defense and aerospace applications.

You will lead subsystem architecture, work with engineers and drafters, and ensure that customer requirements are transformed into functional, verifiable solutions. A DoD security clearance is required, with travel 5–10% for on-site reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or related technical discipline).
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor (or equivalent) for 3D component modeling.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and schematics.
• US citizenship with ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Willingness to travel between 5% and 10% for customer visits, integration support, or on-site technical reviews.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite and strong written/oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Work with a small team of engineers and drafters to create customized mobile mission systems for defense/aerospace clients.
• Model mission systems, workstation layouts, and fixturing using Autodesk Inventor.
• Apply DfMA concepts to create cross-platform components for multiple projects.
• Identify and verify requirements, ensuring compliance with final deliverables and docs.
• Own subsystem architecture and assembly designs for integration into future systems.
• Create and manage top-level assemblies representing the delivered product in Inventor.
