Job description

Overview

Spirit AeroSystems designs and builds aerostructures for commercial and defense customers. Headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, with sites in the U.S., U.K., France, and Malaysia, the company’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles, and wing components for premier aircraft. Spirit AeroSystems emphasizes affordable, innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions globally.


Responsibilities

Location - Wichita, KS (2nd shift)

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support timely delivery of high-quality products by performing tasks such as product conveyance, operation of material handling equipment, and record keeping related to material flow.
  • Receive, locate, issue, kit, prepare, and move materials including raw materials, parts, shop supplies, and hazardous materials, ensuring inventory accuracy.
  • Use power or hand tools to check hardware for damage, route obsolete hardware, open containers, verify incoming hardware quality, and operate information systems as required.
  • Properly protect parts and equipment, load/unload air cargo, and inspect equipment before and after use.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, refuel equipment, verify part numbers and counts, and communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and shipping personnel.
  • Train other employees as needed.

Level B Responsibilities:

  • Mix, label, and distribute sealing compounds and chemicals using various mixers.
  • Maintain proper identification of product expiration dates.
  • Operate industrial vehicles like forklifts and tractors under 15,000 lbs.
  • Perform duties related to Level C tasks as required.

Level C Responsibilities:

  • Repackage and record materials such as paints, lubricants, and adhesives.
  • Order, receive, store, check, issue, and ship goods, maintaining accurate records.
  • Inspect and clear toolboxes, clean respirators, and prepare containers for distribution.
  • Handle hazardous materials according to regulations, operate packaging equipment, and move parts within the facility using scooters or similar vehicles.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical work
