Job summary

Wilson Elser in Charlotte is seeking a skilled Defense Litigation Attorney to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will defend bodily injury matters including general and premises liability, construction, product liability, and auto/transportation with a focus on gig‑economy clients.

You will manage cases with increasing responsibility and interact directly with clients from inception to resolution.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in North Carolina.
• 2–8 years of litigation experience across civil defense matters.
• Strong analytical, writing, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a diverse litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Work collaboratively with partners, associates, and support staff.
• Handle all aspects of litigation from case inception to trial.
• Develop and implement case strategies aligned with client objectives.
• Maintain regular client communication with timely updates and recommendations.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and related documents.
• Evaluate liability and damages issues and assist in settlements when appropriate.
