Brown White & Osborn LLP in Los Angeles or Irvine seeks an Associate Attorney for its General Liability and Product Liability practice. California-licensed with defense litigation experience, you will independently manage cases, take depositions, handle discovery and motion practice, and support matters through trial.

This hybrid role offers meaningful ownership of sophisticated matters for regional and national clients across California, with opportunities to advance within the firm.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active California State Bar license in good standing.
• Minimum 3 years of defense litigation experience.
• Defense experience in General Liability and/or Product Liability.
• Demonstrated experience with depositions and motion practice.
• Experience taking the lead in plaintiff and expert depositions.
• Ability to independently manage cases and deadlines.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple matters simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a defense litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Represent regional and national clients throughout California.
• Handle general liability and product liability matters.
• Conduct plaintiff, fact witness, and expert depositions.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions and trial.
• Draft and respond to written discovery.
• Review and analyze complex discovery requests and case materials.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.
• Participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings as appropriate.
• Assist with all aspects of trial preparation and trial support.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and internal case teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely billing and case records.
