Job Overview
A prominent law firm is seeking an associate for its Mass Torts and Industry-Wide Litigation team, specializing in asbestos litigation. The role involves representing asbestos defendants across various industries in state and federal courts nationwide, collaborating with multiple office teams. The candidate will help develop and implement defense strategies in complex cases.

Location

• Stamford, CT

Duties

• Research legal issues and assist senior attorneys in forming defense strategies.
• Manage claims from initiation to resolution, including dismissals, settlements, motions, or trials.
• Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and other documents.
• Coordinate case strategies with co-counsel across jurisdictions.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of deposition and courtroom experience in toxic tort cases; asbestos defense experience preferred.
• Admitted to the New York Bar.
• Preferred: Admission to Connecticut, Massachusetts, and/or New Jersey Bar (or ability to waive into NJ).
• Proficient with Zoom, MS Teams, and similar video conferencing tools.
• Willing to travel for depositions and court appearances, including overnight stays.
• Strong research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Quick learner with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Professional, cooperative, flexible, and positive attitude.
• Military experience is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
