Duties

• Take and defend depositions on a regular basis.
• Research and collaborate with senior attorneys to develop proactive defense strategies.
• Navigate claims through resolution by dismissal, settlement, motion practice, or trial.
• Draft memoranda, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Represent clients at courtroom appearances.
• Coordinate with co-counsel across various jurisdictions.

Requirements

• 2+ years of deposition and courtroom experience in toxic tort matters, with preference for those with specific asbestos defense experience.
• Admission to the New York Bar required.
• Admission to Connecticut, Massachusetts, and/or New Jersey Bar preferred (or ability to waive into NJ).
• Familiarity with Zoom, MS Teams, and other video conferencing platforms for depositions, court conferences, and meetings.
• Ability to travel for in-person depositions and court conferences, including overnight travel as needed.
• Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• High-level organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
• Ability to quickly absorb, process, and understand new information.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain high standards of performance.

• Military experience is welcome.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications
