Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory is seeking an experienced Military Systems Cybersecurity Software Engineer to design and deploy resilient software for air, afloat, land, and subsurface platforms.

You will analyze network traffic, develop attack simulations, and contribute to cyber capability development with DoD and IC communities. Interactions include VMWare, Splunk, and related security tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a field relevant to the duties as described.
• 3+ years of experience with software development in one or more of the languages listed.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Golang, Rust, C, or C++.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threat detection methodologies, and incident response processes.
• Experience with computer networks and network analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, Suite).
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams as a leader or contributor.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, evaluate, and deploy robust software capabilities for military platforms to enhance cyber resilience.
• Conduct network analysis of logs and traffic to ensure expected behavior and identify threats.
• Develop tooling and run attack scenarios to assess security solutions detection and response.
