Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems, Inc. is seeking a Drafter to join the Mechanical Design team. The role emphasizes creating 2D/3D drawings, supporting assembly details, and collaborating with engineers to deliver precise designs.

Preferred experience includes Creo, Mentor Graphics, and CADRA, with a DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one. U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work and security considerations.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or the equivalent.
• Requires 2-4 years of related work experience / additional specialized training in the technical field of CAD drafting, engineering.
• Strongly prefer 10+ years of experience, working knowledge of Creo in a large complex setting.

Responsibilities

• The Drafter will perform duties closely with a more experienced Drafter, a Designer, Checker or Engineer.
• Consolidate details from sketches, prints, and assembly drawings
• Make necessary calculations following established standards and procedures
• Produce 2D and 3D detail drawings of simple to moderately complex nature
• Perform small part modeling and prepare assembly drawings
• Modify existing and create new drawings for parts, assemblies, and cables
• Prepare wiring and bill of material lists and routing diagrams
• Demonstrate proficiency with Creo, AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software and learn CADRA, Mentor Graphics and related tools
