Job summary

Emergent Holdings, Inc. seeks a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney for an in-house litigation role under the General Counsel.

The attorney will defend litigated workers’ compensation claims across multiple venues while managing a reasonable caseload in a remote setting. The position requires a minimum of four years’ workers’ compensation experience, strong knowledge of federal and state insurance laws, and excellent leadership and advocacy skills.

Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney

Sign on Bonus - $5000-$8000. Seeking Attorneys Licensed to Practice in:

Workers Compensation Defense Attorney needed for in-house litigation position, working under the direction of the General Counsel. These positions will appear and defend litigated Workers’ Compensation claims before hearing locations across various venues. Manage a reasonable caseload of workers’ compensation defense files, recommending strategic posture and working files to conclusion consistent with all ethical duties.

• Responsible for applying legal principles, knowledge and skills based on experience.
• Evaluates and selects appropriate legal techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment in solving legal issues.
• Drafts and/or dictates legal correspondence and memorandums and works with minimal supervision on all assigned matters.
• Conducts legal research and offers timely legal opinions and advice upon reasonable demand.
• Provides objective assessment of risk areas.
• Works on special projects as assigned.
