Emergent Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join our in-house litigation team. The role will defend litigated workers’ compensation claims before hearing locations, manage a reasonable caseload, and coordinate with the General Counsel to steer cases to resolution.

This position is fully remote with travel to hearing sites as needed. Requirements include at least four years of workers’ compensation litigation experience, strong knowledge of federal and state

Qualifications

• Minimum four (4) years of workers’ compensation legal experience.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing insurance.
• Ability to understand complex legal issues.
• Ability to interface with legal counsel and business groups at all levels.
• Effective leadership, management and advocacy skills.
• Excellent project management skills; ability to work remotely in a paperless environment.

Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney

Sign on Bonus - $5000-$8000. Seeking Attorneys Licensed to Practice in:

Workers Compensation Defense Attorney needed for in-house litigation position, working under the direction of the General Counsel. These positions will appear and defend litigated Workers’ Compensation claims before hearing locations across various venues. Manage a reasonable caseload of workers’ compensation defense files, recommending strategic posture and working files to conclusion consistent with all ethical duties.

• Responsible for applying legal principles, knowledge and skills based on experience.
• Evaluates and selects appropriate legal techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment in solving legal issues.
• Drafts and/or dictates legal correspondence and memorandums and works with minimal supervision on all assigned matters.
• Conducts legal research and offers timely legal opinions and advice upon reasonable demand.
• Provides objective assessment of risk areas.
• Works on special projects as assigned.
