Job summary

The Fifth Third Bank is seeking a Default Specialist I to verify and process invoices, monitor default lockbox activity, and post funds as needed. You will review invoices from multiple vendors, approve or deny payments, and ensure compliance with Investor and Bank limits while maintaining confidentiality.

Working under supervision, you will generate reports, support risk management, and collaborate with teams to deliver accurate billing and cash flow updates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Solid mathematical skills.
• Good knowledge of PC’s, Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word.
• Experience with financial systems such as LoanSphere and Director is a plus.
• Professional maturity and ability to work in a team while maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Reviews incoming invoices from multiple vendors to ensure accurate billing.
• Decides on payment approval or denial and posts funds to default accounts.
• Gains approval for fee requests over investor or bank limits.
• Creates and maintains reports for management and third parties.
• Performs other duties as assigned and supports risk management activities.
