Job summary

Engine Ventures in Cambridge, MA is seeking an Associate to join our investment team. This core role focuses on identifying, evaluating, and supporting high-potential, technically complex companies from formation to growth.

The Associate will work directly with founders, performing due diligence, developing a broad network, and presenting new opportunities in a flat, weekly meeting structure. Strong technical fluency and judgment are essential.

Qualifications

• Advanced technical training (PhD or equivalent) in a relevant field.
• Experience evaluating complex technical systems and markets.
• Strong written and verbal communication with entrepreneurial context.

Responsibilities

• Perform diligence and analyze investment opportunities across domains.
• Develop networks with researchers and entrepreneurs to identify deals.
• Present opportunities in weekly investment team meetings.
• Collaborate with Partners to structure investments in deep tech.
• Support portfolio companies post-investment as they grow.
