Job summary

AMG seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in tooling for deep draw manufacturing. You will lead tooling and mechanical system design, collaborating with production and tooling teams to ensure manufacturability, quality, and on-time delivery.

This role requires 4+ years in aerospace/defense/medical tooling, proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), and a commitment to continuous improvement in line with ITAR and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years in mechanical design, tooling, and deep draw manufacturing in aerospace/defense/medical industries.
• Strong proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Experience with tooling design for deep draw manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 6S, and continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with ITAR, Nadcap, AS9100 and ISO quality standards.
• Problem-solving and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to continuous improvement aligned with AMG’s growth.
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required for ITAR access.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of tooling and mechanical systems for deep draw manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with tooling to create manufacturable and cost-efficient tooling solutions.
• Analyze and implement continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
• Provide hands-on engineering support to the production floor and troubleshoot issues.
• Ensure designs and processes meet ITAR, AS9100 and ISO standards.
• Maintain engineering documentation and prepare project reports.
• Contribute expertise to New Product Introduction (NPI) from prototype to production.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams for smooth integration.
