Job summary

East Side Union High School District is seeking a Custodian to perform routine cleaning and custodial functions across assigned school sites. The role requires operating cleaning equipment, maintaining floor and surface cleanliness, and assisting in setting up for events.

A valid CA driver’s license, fingerprint clearance, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions are essential. Bilingual candidates are preferred, and internal candidates only are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance.
• Bilingual candidates preferred.
• INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY.
• Possession of a valid California Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Performs routine janitorial and custodial functions at assigned site(s) or facilities.
• Cleans classrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, cafeteria, gymnasiums, offices, and related facilities.
• Sweeps, mops, strips, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors.
• Vacuums and shampoos rugs and carpets.
• Dusts furniture; empties and cleans trash receptacles.
• Cleans walls, furniture, windows, woodwork, chalkboards, lockers, and other equipment; paints graffiti.
• Cleans doors and windows; replaces light bulbs.
• Picks up papers and debris; cleans walkways and entrances.
• Operates cleaning equipment; ensures security of the area; locks/unlocks doors and gates.
• Assists in setting up furniture for events; reports maintenance needs.
• Responds to emergencies and performs minor maintenance and repairs.
