Job summary

East Side Union High School District in California seeks on-call Custodian/Gardener to support multiple sites. Work includes routine custodial tasks and general grounds maintenance as needed.

You will operate cleaning equipment, care for lawns and gardens, and assist with event setups under the supervision of the head custodian; fingerprint clearance and valid California driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of gardening methods and practices.
• Knowledge of the safe use, maintenance, and operation of tools, power equipment, and sprinkler systems.
• Ability to read and write at a level necessary to perform required duties successfully.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform required duties.
• Fingerprint background clearance prior to starting work.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine janitorial and custodial functions at assigned site(s) or facilities.
• Cleans classrooms, restrooms, cafeteria, gymnasiums, offices, and related facilities.
• Operates cleaning equipment such as vacuums and floor machines.
• Plants, cultivates, prunes, shapes, trims, waters, and sprays trees, shrubs, hedges and plants.
• Maintains sprinklers and sprinkler systems.
