Job summary

PIH Health Downey Hospital is seeking a License Vocation Nurse (LVN) for a full-time shift from 8am to 6pm in the Nursing Staffing Office. The LVN provides direct patient care under RN supervision and practices within licensed boundaries, taking responsibility for nursing actions, competence, and decisions.

Qualified applicants will have prior acute care experience (Medical/Surgical) and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Evidence of continuing education.
• Prior experience in an acute care facility (Medical/Surgical).
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Practice within legal boundaries for LVN nursing and assume responsibility for nursing actions, competence, and decisions.
• Contribute to patient/family education and discharge planning as part of the care team.
