Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking an LVN to provide individualized nursing care under the direction of an RN in a hospital setting in California. The role requires BLS, a California LVN license, and IV therapy/blood withdrawal certification.

The LVN will participate in planning, execute nasal and other interventions per the Plan Of Care, and contribute to evaluating patient outcomes. This position is full-time and includes union-related terms as part of SEIU-UHW.

Qualifications

• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - REQUIRED
• California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - CA Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians - REQUIRED
• Vocational Nurse IV Therapy/Blood Withdrawal Certification - Various-Employee provides certificate - REQUIRED

Responsibilities

• Perform individualized nursing care for patients/families under the direction of an RN.
• Use and practice basic assessment data collection; participate in planning and execute interventions per Plan Of Care.
• Contribute to evaluation of outcomes and ensure patient/family educated Plan Of Care and planned treatments.
• Communicate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care activities, workflow, and patient progress.
• Document patient care needs per department guidelines and communicate updates to RN and team.
• Provide informal teaching to peers and document learning activities.
• Act as patient advocate to uphold patient/family rights and support participation in decisions.
