Total Transportation is hiring a Dedicated Fleet Manager in Statesville, NC. The role runs 7:00am to 4:00pm and focuses on driver performance, lane management, and on-time service. You will oversee fleet maintenance, maximize tractor utilization, and maintain strong customer relations.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 3+ years in high-volume operations, and at least 1 year of leadership. DOT knowledge and strong communication are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Maintains fleet maintenance programs for tractors and trailers.
• Maximizes revenue per tractor through proper equipment utilization.
• Documents and communicates service issues.
• Builds trust and integrity with customers.
• Coordinate with drivers on drug screens and CDL renewals.
• Maintain attendance and punctuality for department efficiency.
• Access and update customer web portals as needed.
• Perform load planning to ensure on-time service and utilization.
• Conduct HOS safety audits.

Compensation Range: $43,000 - $64,600

What You’ll Do:

• Supervises driver performance to ensure proper balance is achieved with business needs and driver needs; makes recommendations for performance documentation and terminations.
• Responsible for addressing issues and disputes for drivers.
• Track and work with the customer(s) to receive assigned lanes and commitment levels from shipping locations. Includes responsibility for the ETA of the trucks at each stop.
• Ensures drivers and equipment are performing as necessary to provide on-time service.
• Ensures all fleet maintenance programs are current on tractors and trailers.
• Maximizes revenue per tractor through appropriate equipment utilization.
• Documents and communicates all service related issues.
• Develops a sense of trust and integrity with the customer.
• Seeks appropriate guidance from leadership on matters that could negatively impact TTMS financially.
• Informs drivers of their assigned schedules and loads.
• Coordinates with drivers on physicals and random drug screens as well as CDL renewal deadlines based on Safety Department tracking and correspondence.
• Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
• Access, update and maintain a customer’s web portal, if required.
• Perform all customer service functions including but not limited to accepting EDI orders, manual order entry, and build new customers.
• Maintain EDI orders within our operating systems
• Perform load planning functions to provide on time service and maximize utilization.
• HOS safety audits
• Other duties as assigned by management.

What We’re Looking For:

Education

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience required. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of high volume operational experience required.
• Minimum of 1 year leadership experience required.
• Experience in the transportation industry a plus.

Skills/Certifications

• Intermediate interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills required; ability to exchange information effectively and tactfully, moderate degree of tack diplomacy when dealing with others and handling sensitive issues.
• Intermediate computer skills required; experience with Microsoft Office, Internet, and applicable company-specific applications.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, strategic and innovative thinking skills.
• Extreme patience in dealing with volatile situations; flawless follow-up procedures.
• Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations impacting daily operations.
