TOTAL Transportation's Load Planner at the Loudon TTMS Terminal coordinates freight moves by matching loads with drivers, prioritizing by schedule, value, and DOT compliance, and monitoring load status throughout the shift.

• 2–5 years in Operations, Customer Service, Fleet Management or Load Planning in transportation.
• Knowledge of DOT hours of service.
• Experience with AS-400, XPM and Microsoft Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Match freight loads with the optimal driver based on load and driver availability.
• Prioritize loads by schedule, value, hazards, and customer priority; assess proximity and hours under DOT rules.
• Review load-to-truck ratio and report daily to management.
• Monitor AS400 and XPM for new loads and status updates.
• Coordinate with Fleet Management to resolve driver issues en route.
• Unassign/reassign loads and locate equipment to prevent service failure.
• Find equipment for drivers that break down and advise where to drop trailers.
• Respond to inquiries about loads from Fleet Management and customers.
• Search for missing trailers at customer locations and drop yards.
• Maintain attendance and punctuality for department efficiency.
• Work on TTMS site or customer location as needed.
• Plus other duties as assigned.

Compensation Range: $52,100 - $78,200

What You'll Do:

• Match freight loads with the optimal driver based on review of available loads and available drivers
• Prioritize loads by time schedule, special characteristics such as high value product or hazardous materials, and customer priority. Review list of drivers available to accept each load for proximity to pick up location, available hours under DOT regulations, home time and training requirements, and factors impacting driver retention.
• Review ratio of available loads to available trucks for assigned region, area or customer and report the load balance to management daily.
• Monitor AS400 and XPM system for new loads and monitor status of loads assigned to drivers using the AS400 system.
• Coordinate with Fleet Management to resolve driver issues en route to prevent service failure to the customer.
• Unassign loads, reassign loads and locate equipment to prevent service failure or minimize service failure impact.
• Find equipment for drivers that break down and inform drivers where to drop trailers after delivery.
• Respond to inquiries about available loads from Fleet Management. Respond to inquiry about load assignments and load status from Customer Service.
• Search for missing trailers at customer locations and drop yards using the AS400 system.
• Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
• Ability to work on an TTMS site or TTMS customer location site while performing the essential functions of this position.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

What We're Looking For:

Education

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience

• Knowledge of DOT hours of service and how they apply to a driver.
• AS-400, XPM and Microsoft Outlook Experience required.
• 2-5 years applicable Operations experience in Customer Service, Fleet Management or Load Planning within the transportation industry

Skills/Certifications

• Ability to be a self-starter
• Ability to work in stressful situations
• Work in a deadline driven environment preferred
