Job summary

Delta-T Group Virginia, Inc. seeks a dedicated Aide to support K-12 students in Washington, DC area, working 1 on 1 with students with disabilities to help them reach academic, behavioral, and developmental goals.

Responsibilities include implementing IEPs, collaborating with teachers, and adapting materials; you will also help with behavior management, social and communication skills, and daily living activities when required. A compassionate, student-centered approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.
• Background clearances must be passed.
• Experience with SPED or disabilities is preferred but not required.

One of our clients is seeking a Dedicated Aide to support K-12 students in the Washington, DC area.

Seeking a compassionate and student-centered Dedicated Aide to work 1 on 1 with students with disabilities in achieving their academic, behavioral, social, and developmental goals.

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY

• Assist in the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and accommodations.
• Support students with disabilities in achieving academic, behavioral, and developmental goals.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to modify instructional materials and learning activities as needed.
• Implement classroom behavior management strategies and positive behavior interventions.
• Support students in developing social skills, communication skills, self-regulation, and positive peer relationships.
• Help maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning and student success.
• Serve as a liaison between students, teachers, and families by sharing relevant information regarding student needs, progress, and accomplishments.
• Participate in team meetings, IEP discussions, and student support planning to contribute to educational and developmental goals.
• Provide assistance with personal care, mobility, and daily living activities when required.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, specialists, and support personnel to meet student needs.

CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children (SPED Experience Preferred)
• Ability to support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to pass required background clearances
