Job description

Decorator - Holiday Services - Seasonal, Walt Disney World

The Decorator is responsible for ensuring that everything looks great onstage and may also perform maintenance on décor, respond to trouble tickets, or assist in holiday preparations across our parks & resorts. This role is crucial in maintaining the 'Guest Facing' standards of Walt Disney World. Applicants should have experience in scenic work, carpentry, painting, upholstery, floral arrangements, or molding. The position may require work from elevated platforms and in confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.

This is a seasonal role, lasting approximately 4 months.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $23.42 per hour. Benefits such as medical, financial, and others may be included. More details are available at: Disney Benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance on interior/exterior elements such as furniture, static props, sunshades, crowd control equipment, decorative ropes, netting, penates, drapery/upholstery, artificial foliage, and artwork.
• Operate AWP, forklifts, Lull lifts, up to 30' box trucks, and perform ladder work at heights.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in one of the following disciplines: scenic, props, interior design, carpentry (finish or rough), mold making, painting (faux finishes), seamstress/upholstery, florist, rope splicing or weaving, flooring.
• Proficient with hand and powered tools.
• Proficient with general hardware and adhesives.
• Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Team player.
• Proficiency in standard office software and mobile devices.
