Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking a Sourcing Manager for Decorative Textiles in New York. You will drive sourcing, product development, and cost engineering from concept through production and delivery, partnering with merchants and overseas teams to meet brand quality and value goals.

The role requires 5+ years in sourcing within a large retail chain, strong negotiation skills, and knowledge of the production process. Travel domestically and internationally may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate required.
• 5+ years sourcing experience in Product Development/Merchandising within a large retail chain.
• Knowledge of product development and production processes and technical aspects of products.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in retail math.
• Strong communication with international partners; Bengali, Hindi, or Mandarin a plus.
• PC/Microsoft Office with emphasis on Share tools and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manages Sourcing and Product Development operational functions from concept to shipment.
• Anticipates problems and proposes solutions to directors/managers.
• Evaluates samples for aesthetic quality and feasibility.
• Owns product costing and cost engineering.
• Ensures milestones and timelines are met; communicates updates to the team.
• Maintains supplier/vendor relationships and ensures on-time shipments.
