Job summary

EnVogue International in New York, NY is seeking a Decorative Pillows Designer to create trend-driven decorative pillows and soft home accessories. You will focus on textiles, materials, construction, and commercially relevant design for major retail accounts.

The role emphasizes hands-on textile design, material selection, trend research, assortment development, and merchandising, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet design, quality, pricing, and timeline requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Surface Design, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, or related field.
• 5+ years of design experience within decorative pillows, home textiles, soft home furnishings, or related categories.
• Strong hands-on experience in textile design, CADs, artwork creation, product development, and assortment merchandising.
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, weaves, prints, embroideries, embellishments, trims, and decorative pillow construction.
• Ability to translate trends into cohesive, commercially viable product collections with a strong understanding of retail merchandising.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Experience working with overseas factories, textile suppliers, and major retail accounts preferred.
• Strong trend awareness, color sensibility, organizational skills, and communication skills with a commercial design mindset.
• Portfolio demonstrating relevant decorative pillow designs, textile artwork, material exploration, and product development work required.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop seasonal decorative pillow collections across a variety of styles, materials, constructions, and price points.
• Create original artwork, prints, patterns, textures, embroideries, appliqués, and colorways for decorative pillows.
• Translate trends and retailer needs into commercially relevant product assortments, cohesive collections, and merchandising concepts.
• Explore and select fabrics, yarns, trims, textures, embellishments, and construction techniques to enhance product design and presentation.
• Develop presentation-ready CADs, mockups, color stories, product concepts, and merchandising presentations for internal and buyer meetings.
• Create and review artwork, tech packs, samples, fabric specifications, and construction details to ensure design intent is maintained.
• Work with overseas factories on fabric sourcing, weaving, embroidery, printing, construction techniques, and sample development.
• Partner with Sales on buyer requests, retailer-specific assortments, product presentations, and merchandising strategies.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Sourcing, and Production to meet design, quality, pricing, and timeline requirements.
• Stay current on retail, competitive, and emerging trends in decorative pillows, home textiles, and home décor.

About the Role

As a Decorative Pillows Designer, you will design and develop trend-driven decorative pillows and soft home accessories, with a strong emphasis on textiles, materials, construction, and commercially relevant design.
