Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in North Kingstown, RI is seeking a QPDPT Construction Engineer to provide on-site deckplate technical leadership for VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA class construction at the Quonset Point facility.

You will resolve construction issues, coordinate with operations, and guide engineering reports while working in a dynamic, shift-based environment requiring strong independent work and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering.
• 5+ years of postgraduate engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Department of Defense secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site deckplate technical leadership for second shift operations at Quonset Point facility for VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA Class construction.
• Resolve and troubleshoot construction issues and coordinate with operations and support groups.
• Liaise between operations, ship's management, program office, QA and other stakeholders.
• Act as an engineering representative supporting VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA Class construction with leadership and review of engineering reports.
• Address design issues, provide UNSAT responses, ensure timely resolution and work independently.
• Engage with operations and planning, communicate assessments and provide technical guidance.
