Job summary

Bowhead Marine Support Services seeks an Ordinary Seaman to operate and maintain vessels supporting the 53rd Weapons Group and 82nd Aerial Target Squadron at Tyndall, FL. Responsibilities include deckhand duties, range operations awareness, and close-quarters handling near waterborne targets.

Candidate must have at least 2 years as a deckhand, USCG Navigational Watch, and STCW compliance. Familiarity with MK systems and port operations is a plus; drug screening and a valid driver’s license are

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years experience as a deckhand and the ability to maintain water craft, and hold a USCG Rating forming part of the Navigational Watch.
• Must meet the standard of competence specified in Section A-II/4 of the STCW Code.
• Prefer candidate with experience operating craft used to conduct range clearance operations, range safety and in the recovery of Drones and subscale aerial target waterborne recovery.
• Familiarity with MK-30, MK-39, Mk-46, MK-48, MK-54 systems and PUTR, PAR, LASEREX, HSMST operations is a plus.
• Knowledge of Port Operations Support Functions including workboats for gate operations, line handling, pusher boat duties, oil boom installation/removal.
• Must pass pre-employment and routine drug screening per Maritime Consortium.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment to work alone or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Crew, operate and maintain assigned vessels in direct support of missions within 200nm of Panama City Sea Buoy.
• Conduct and assist with maintenance and repairs of vessels and modifications to suit mission requirements.
• Shall have extensive deckhand experience and operate close to other craft and waterborne targets.
