Job summary

UIC Arctic Response Services, LLC in Fairhope, Alabama is looking for part-time, on-call Deckhands to work on utility and high-speed vessels during US Coast Guard training operations. Candidates should be knowledgeable in shipboard operations and deck seamanship.

A high school diploma is required, and experience as a deckhand is preferred. Applicants residing in Baldwin County are highly desired. U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Qualifications

• One (1) year boating experience as a deckhand preferred.
• Merchant Marine credential as an ordinary seaman highly desired.
• Experience with helicopter/vessel close proximity operations desired.
• Military experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handles mooring lines and rigging, ensuring safety equipment is utilized.
• Develop understanding of shipboard safety procedures and equipment.
• Participate in meetings, training, drills, and safety audits.
• Provide excellent customer service and interact courteously with coworkers.
