Job summary

American Commercial Barge Line in the Gulf region seeks a Fleet Deckhand to support safe and efficient vessel operations. You will load/unload cargo, perform rigging, and maintain the deck while adhering to USCG and company safety policies.

Qualifications

• Must live within 50 miles of the fleet
• Valid driver''s license
• TWIC card
• Pass pre-employment drug screen
• Complete health questionnaire and pass physical abilities test
• Able to carry an 80lb wire for 200 feet
• Work outdoors in inclement weather

Responsibilities

• Assist with the safe loading and unloading of cargo.
• Handling rigging during barge tow building, locking, and docking activities.
• Perform basic vessel maintenance such as painting, cleaning, and changing oil and filters.
• Ensure the safety of team members and cargo by inspecting and correcting conditions.
• Contribute to a positive work environment through teamwork and communication.
