The Deck Supervisor manages equipment and personnel movements on the rig deck.

  • Must be committed to safety and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Perform work in accordance with work instructions.
  • Supervise personnel entrusted to the role.
  • Assist with offloading and backloading supply vessels and transferring cargo using platform cranes.
  • Assist with handling tubular and drilling tools.
  • Assist in lifting bulk sacks and chemicals used in drilling mud.
  • Perform slinging and rigging of complex components.
  • Participate in helicopter operations for boarding, landing, and baggage handling.
  • Be knowledgeable about station duties during blowout control and drills.
  • Participate in safety drills and activities.
  • Perform equipment checks while working at heights.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to obtain necessary onshore and offshore certifications.
  • Experience in the oil industry preferred.
  • Certifications required include:
    • Advanced Rigging, Slinging, and Banksman
    • ROCMC (Radio Operator - Maritime Commercial)
    • RORC-A (Restricted Radio Operator - Aeronautical)
    • Crane Operator - Stage 3 (API Certified)
  • Good verbal communication skills in English.
  • Sound reasoning, ability to follow directions.
  • Knowledge of rig and drilling equipment, tubular sizes, and threading.
  • Proficiency in rigging, mechanical systems, hand and power tools, forklifts, gantry cranes, and tubular shuttles.
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel as required.

  • Drilling and well operations
  • Object prevention and safety zones
  • Pipe measurement and tubular management
  • Logistics and cargo planning
  • Deck and crane supervision and maintenance
