Summit Reconstruction and Restoration is seeking a skilled and dependable Deck Coater to join our construction and restoration team. The Deck Coater is responsible for preparing surfaces, applying waterproofing systems and protective coatings. Assisting with the repair and restoration of decks, balconies, walkways, and other elevated structures. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare deck, balcony, and walkway surfaces through cleaning, grinding, sanding, scarifying, and pressure washing.
- Remove damaged coatings, sealants, and surface contaminants to ensure proper adhesion of new materials.
- Apply primers, waterproof membranes, deck coatings, sealants, and protective finishes according to manufacturer specifications.
- Mix and prepare coating materials using proper ratios and application techniques.
- Perform crack repairs, patching, and minor concrete or substrate repairs as directed.
- Install reinforcing fabrics, flashing materials, and waterproofing components.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, pressure washers, sprayers, rollers, and other equipment required for deck coating applications.
- Maintain jobsite cleanliness and ensure proper containment of dust and debris.
- Inspect completed work to verify quality standards and compliance with project specifications.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site specific safety requirements.
- Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, fall protection equipment, gloves, and eye protection.
- Assist with loading, unloading and transporting materials and equipment to and from jobsites.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, and team members regarding project progress, and jobsite conditions.
- Complete daily reports, timekeeping records, and other required documentation.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in deck coating, waterproofing, concrete restoration, painting, construction, or a related trade preferred.
- Ability to read and follow manufacturer specifications and work instructions.
- Knowledge of construction safety practices and proper PPE use.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen, if required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of waterproofing systems, coatings, sealants, and surface preparation techniques.
- Ability to identify substrate conditions and surface defects.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing job site conditions and project requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
- Ability to work at heights and use fall protection equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and direct sunlight.
- Ability to wear respirators and other required PPE for extended periods of time.
