Job summary

H-E-B’s AI Center of Excellence is seeking a Decision Scientist who can bridge data and business domain expertise, codify decision context into reusable knowledge, and help build the platform that enables analysts to leverage that context.

You will work with business partners to translate questions into evidence-based recommendations, design scalable decision pipelines, and defend reasoning with data-driven analysis in a fast-moving retail environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in retail decision science or analytics.
• Shipped defensible recommendations, not just dashboards.
• Comfortable with imperfect data and incomplete datasets.
• Able to translate business questions into reusable context.

Responsibilities

• Codify how a decision is made into reusable, shareable context.
• Design and build the platform for reuse and collaboration.
• Evaluate data-driven or AI outputs for business impact and defend reasoning.
• Establish feedback loops to improve the shared context and platform.
• Apply causal and comparative reasoning to separate signal from noise.
• Set standards for 'good' results as more analysts contribute.
