Responsibilities of the Decanner Operator
  • Operate decanning machinery to cut open catalytic converters and extract internal materials.
  • Inspect catalytic converters for quality and type before processing.
  • Ensure safe handling and separation of metal materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent contamination and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Monitor machinery for performance issues and perform basic troubleshooting as needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), dust collection systems, and proper handling of sharp or hazardous components.
  • Assist with sorting and categorizing materials for downstream processing or refining. Communicate any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
  • This role will also be responsible for upgrading other materials and general housekeeping duties as assigned.
Qualifications for the Right Individual
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in recycling and manufacturing is preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and environmental compliance.
  • Forklift experience.

Work Hours

7:00 am to 3:30 pm or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays 8 am to noon.
