Responsibilities

  • Buff and polish parts to achieve desired surface finish.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to guide activities and ensure quality.
  • Follow work instructions; keep daily production records and relevant data.
  • Maintain a safe, organized work environment and use protective equipment as required.
  • Adhere to 6S program and company safety policies.
  • Maintain neat and compliant work area and support team goals.

Job description

Overview The Deburring Technician will be responsible for removing sharp edges, burrs, and surface imperfections from metal parts and weldments to specified tolerances, utilizing various deburring techniques, including powered or hand tool deburring, vibratory tumbling and grit blasting. Technicians will ensure all components meet tolerances, product specifications, and quality standards after deburring operations are completed. The Deburring Technician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function and demonstrates proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.

Responsibilities
  • Remove burrs and sharp edges from metal parts and assemblies using various hand tools, power tools, and machinery to specified tolerances
  • Operate and maintain grinders, sanders, buffers, vibratory tumbling machines, and grit blasting equipment
  • Clean parts using appropriate methods to remove contaminants and apply corrosion inhibitors where specified
  • Buff and polish parts to achieve desired surface finish and appearance
  • Read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to guide activities and ensure quality
  • Follow verbal, written, and electronic work instruction to complete tasks
  • Keep daily production records and record pertinent manufacturing data where required
  • Learn, practice and follow all safety standards and policies and ensure a safe operating environment, including use of appropriate protective equipment and identification of potential safety concerns
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Typically requires 0-1 years of related experience
  • Mechanical aptitude: Ability to use hand tools and shop equipment to perform assembly, installation, fabrication and rework tasks on metal aircraft components
  • Dexterity: Must be able to work with your hands to complete assembly operations
  • Problem Solving: Ability to analyze complex problems, ask questions to learn and lead systematic approaches to determine root cause and corrective actions
  • Communication: Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively with all levels of the organization in both verbal and written forms
  • Language: Ability to read, write and speak the English language
  • Quality: High attention to detail and accuracy; Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and determine root cause of problems

Pay Range

Salary Range: USD $16.18/Hr. - USD $24.27/Hr.
