Job description

Prepare parts at different stages of the machining process: cut, debur, polish, grind, smooth, buff - aluminum parts. Must have experience and be competent with hand and power tools that are used to smooth burrs and the sharp edges of aluminum parts.

Job Duties include, but not limited to:

• Metal cleaning: Clean different types of metal (mostly aluminum) with chemical cleaners.
• Debur: clean small machined parts by removing rough edges to make a smooth from the cuts made by the CNC machines.
• Polish: Use a polisher to bring a smooth, mirror-like finish to the materials and parts. This will also include high-end stainless steel lights before they are shipped out.
• Grinding: Take down material or smooth out welds or surfaces to be welded at multiple stages of the manufacturing process.
• Maintaining work space and assigned tools clean and orderly.
• Participate in cleaning and organizing the welding area and machine shop when needed.
• Wear proper PPE to protect self (respiratory, eyes, face). Observe and follow safety rules and regulations specific to your work area.
• Support other areas in the machine shop occasionally, loading / unloading raw aluminum parts, cleaning parts for machining

Required experience & qualifications:

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with welding preparation.
• Skilled with power tools such as polisher and grinder.
• Good communication and positive attitude.

Physical Demands
Must have ability to lift, carry, and stack product weighing between 35 and 45 pounds.

Ability to stand up to a total of 8 hours, with breaks while occasionally bending, stooping, and twisting and do repetitive work for 2 to 4 hours at a time.

Excellent manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.

You will be exposed to aluminum dust

We are a Florida Drug Free Workplace. The company requires all employees to complete a pre-employment 10 panel drug screen; employment status will be dependent on ability to pass this screening and partake on a quarterly random screen.

Hours, compensation and benefits:
Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00PM with two paid 15-minute breaks and a full un-paid lunch hour.

Compensation for this position begins at $19.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience and skillset.
