Job summary

Solon Corporate in New York is seeking an experienced debt advisory analyst to support debt raises and refinancings for corporate borrowers. You will translate financial data into clear analyses and build models working directly with the Managing Directors.

You will analyze historical accounts, build forecasts and debt schedules, prepare memoranda and lender presentations, and research financing structures to compare terms.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of financial statements and how profit, cash flow and balance sheet connect.
• Ability to build transparent models in Excel.
• Clear written communication explaining numbers for financing decisions.
• Experience or study in corporate finance, accounting, economics or related analytic field.
• Attention to detail and reliability in raising uncertainties early.

Responsibilities

• Analyse historical accounts and management information, reconcile inconsistencies and identify the drivers of earnings, cash flow and working capital.
• Build operating forecasts, debt schedules and financing scenarios, including downside cases and covenant headroom.
• Prepare information memoranda, lender presentations and supporting analysis that explain the credit case accurately.
• Research relevant lenders and financing structures, and compare proposed terms on a consistent basis.
• Organise data-room materials, maintain diligence trackers and help answer lender questions through documentation and completion.
