Job summary

Simmons Foods in Arkansas is seeking to fill a Debone production role on a rotation basis. You will perform all positions on the Debone line, rotating to cover cutting breasts, wings, skin removal, saw operation, loading, and tray packing.

The position emphasizes teamwork, adherence to Simmons operating systems, and LEAN principles, with safety guidelines and PPE provided. Poultry/food processing experience is preferred; veterans are welcome.

• Experience in poultry or food processing is preferred.

• Performs all positions on the Debone line.
• Rotates to cover cutting breasts, wings, skin removal, saw operation, loading product, tray packing and other Debone tasks.
• Supports team, participates in continuous improvement and adherence to LEAN and safety policies.
• Works in a cold environment and uses PPE as required.

Job description

To be fluent in all Debone production work on a rotation basis.

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Performs all positions on the line in Debone.
• Rotates positions as needed to include cutting breasts, wings; pulling skin; using a saw; loading product; tray packing and any other position in Debone.
  
  

Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities: Employees must be able to work in a cold environment down to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Employees are required to stand/move about for 8-10 hours a day. Employees must be able to perform required duties of the job to include but not limited to: reaching, standing, moving about and/or lifting. Constant moving about; bending & twisting of the neck; simple grasping; fine manipulation/feeling; reaching below shoulder level; repetitive motion of the shoulders, arms and hands; use of vision and hearing. Occasional bending & twisting at the waist; pushing/pulling; talking.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Will use waterproof footwear, gloves, apron, hearing protection, hair net(s) and other protective equipment as needed or required.

Industry Experience: Preference for poultry or food processing organization.
