Job summary

County of Anoka is seeking a part-time, on-call Field Investigator to support forensic investigations in Minnesota counties. You will respond to death scenes, document findings, take photographs, and notify next of kin with compassion and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of job-related experience required.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle available for business use.

Responsibilities

• Respond to death scenes in a timely manner, often on an on-call basis for a specific area.
• Perform detailed inspection and photographs of the body and surrounding area.
• Notify next of kin compassionately and professionally.
• Obtain demographics and medical history through interviews with family, friends, staff, or physicians.
• Provide written reports documenting investigation and findings with photos and sketches as needed.
• Maintain chain of custody for collected property/evidence.
